Fields of Mystria: A Magical Take on Farming Simulators

I tried Fields of Mystria, so you don’t have to. So first things first, this game is really really similar to Stardew Valley and all of these other farming simulators. And that’s not surprising, because this is basically what it is. I have played a few other games that had like a similar problem and I didn’t like it because of that, because I thought it was too similar. But this game does it in a way where it’s like they’re just taking the best bits of these other farming games. Essentially, they just made this game just different enough. It feels more authentic to itself. I discovered this game has magic and I’m super excited to see like, you know, where this leads to. And there’s definitely a lot of like stuff in this game that is completely different from like a regular farming simulator. There is the aspect of, you know, we live in a farm, we’re saving the new town, we’re like a new person, etc. But the way it’s presented so far feels a little bit better. Another thing to mention is this game has romanceable characters. I haven’t like really experienced the romance part of it yet, you know, because I was just kind of like saying hi to everyone on my first two days there. But why is everyone in this game so good looking? Like, it’s ridiculous. I think this game is more of a fantasy kind of farming simulator, if anything else, and the characters really, really reflect that. And I’m so down for that. Like, I’m just so intrigued by all of them. So if you’re looking for like a romance kind of situation, I feel like this game has it. I don’t know how it will play out later on once you actually start to romancing somebody. But I’m excited to see where it leads. I think the only thing I really didn’t like about this game, you basically had to have after cutscene to gather all your items. For me to get a watering can, I had to meet another character and he had to tell me about this watering can that I’m getting. And for me to get an axe, I had to have another cutscene and then I would get the axe. And I just felt like that was just a little bit unnecessary in my opinion. It’s not a deal breaker. So I did enjoy the game. I would recommend it to other people. I’m excited to see what else is there in store, considering this is just an early release. Let me know if you have played Fields of Mysteria and what you thought about it.
