So the head judge from the Olympic breaking contest has come out and praised Reagan, Australian’s break dancer, for her interpretational dance. He said breaking is all about originality and bringing something new to the table and this is exactly what Reagan was doing. Yeah, but she scored zero. Big goose egg. I’ve been a dancer since I was 13 years old and watching that was painful. Even the dude that won, I think it was from Japan, like the world of dance has better dancers. Like so you think you can dance, but where were all these people? Like no. And before you all say anything, I was a competitive dancer. Like that could be an Olympic sport and I was pretty damn good too. Look at that. But like everything, it came with a lot of practice. Luckily I had people around me to say, yeah, don’t do that move again ever. But my final point, and if we’re going to keep that break dancing in the 2028 Olympics, we really need to reevaluate getting rid of boxing. I think dancing is a sport. I’ve done it for decades. So it isn’t easy. That being said, whoever was responsible for putting those break dancers in the Olympics, I don’t think they knew what they were looking for. I don’t think they knew themselves. That part is evident. I’m really excited for the LA games because I’ve never been close enough to go to any of the Olympics. Like in Atlanta, 96, I just had to watch on TV. So this time, I actually have the means to go. So we’re already planning the trip. We’re going to go watch the Olympics. We’re going to take the kids because I feel like that’s kind of a once in a lifetime thing. So shout out to all the Olympians, especially the Americans who brought home a ton of gold. So yeah, still exciting. Just hopefully they can revamp the break dancing part and make it better.
