Exploring Relationships and Community Support: Reflections on ‘It Ends With Us’

Have you seen the movie it ends with us yet because if you haven’t there’s no spoilers in this trust me I just want to commend them on the conversations between different people within the movie so especially the conversation between the main character and her boyfriend’s sister And if you’ve seen it you’ll know what I’m talking about But if you haven’t seen it then do go and have a watch and look for the conversations between the main character and her relatives friends, you know the relationships basically between people and how that is managed and because I feel like we should be doing that more for people and Within our community and saying you know that behavior is Inappropriate that lang the way you’re feeling isn’t Love it isn’t normal How would you respond to your daughter if she was going through that sort of relationship and That’s what spoke to me in this movie so Just being a community and thinking about Calling things out when we hear them and we feel oh, do you know what? My friend said this the other day and it didn’t sound right Well, actually let’s talk to our friend about it and said, you know, this didn’t sound right to me Like can you give me some more context? How are you feeling? Checking in with them seeing if they’re happy if they feel safe and secure And their needs have been met in a relationship it just really started making me think about Actually what we can be doing as a community So yes go and watch it ends with us and I am gonna do another Tick-tock on something else that really stuck out to me from this movie Obviously trigger warning is the domestic abuse element. There is sexual violence in there. There is Abusive behavior manipulation So go in with it knowing that you may be triggered as I did Okay, looking forward to hearing your thoughts on that
