Elma is about a 93 year old woman who gets duped by a phone scammer pretending to be her grandson. Grandma, I’m in jail. And then sets out on a treacherous quest across the city to get back what was taken. I feel like collaboration is the filmmaking process. There is no filmmaking without collaboration. I feel like nothing gets done without the team. And now Adobe tools are like an essential part of that team. We use speech to text to create a transcript and then automatically add captions and having it in Premiere made it really simple, really easy. Premiere has just been my go-to software for a long time. I’m sort of a self-pot editor and I’ve always found it very smooth and intuitive. I just didn’t really think twice. Something about it being so compact and portable, I feel like almost takes the psychic pressure off the process of cutting a full length feature and I love it.
