Transitioning to a Low-Tox Lifestyle: My Affordable and Simple Product Swaps and Tips

Let’s talk about some of the products that I use now. First off, to start with, which I think saves a lot of money, is I do not use glade plugins, fragrant sprays, laundry scent beads, fabric softener, dryer sheets. I didn’t replace them, I just eliminate them.

When it comes to switching to a less toxic lifestyle, what I found really easy and less overwhelming is when I waited for something to run out. And when it ran out, I looked for a less toxic alternative. So instead of like just getting really overwhelmed and just doing a total overhaul, which can be really expensive, I just, when something ran out, I looked for a less toxic alternative.

Also something else that saves me a lot of money is I clean a lot with white vinegar, peroxide and baking, etc. It’s really easy and cheap. I did say that I stopped using Glade plugins and fragrant sprays and stuff like that, but I do use essential oil diffusers. I took time to build an essential oil collection over the years. But I do like plant therapy, and they’re really affordable. You can get them on Amazon. Good quality oils that are affordable.

I like no BS to brush my teeth. It’s lacking a lot of yucky ingredients and my teeth feel really clean. I do not use mouthwash, but I cook in a oil pull. If you’re oil pulling, spit it in the trash can, not on the sink drain. I do not use any bath bombs, any bubble baths and fragrance, nothing like that. Nothing in my bath. And if I want to, I will use a nice good pure magnesium flake, which is great for your minerals. Those fragrance sent beat bath bomb things are horrible for everything.

My hair friend.com is, there’s also a TikTok account. I’m gonna put them in the caption. You cannot get any cleaner than a shampoo and conditioner bar from my Hair friend.com. So right now I’m using my hair friend and I’m also using white wow. I love wow because they follow the EU’s beauty standards for clean ingredients and then they add it 70 more that they don’t put in their products. So that’s where I’m at right now. I need to get more, but I love this. I stood in targets beauty aisle forever checking EWG scores to find that. And I’m obsessed. When you’re looking for beauty products, the EWG Skin Deep will help you check ingredients and their scores. So for my face, I love a makeup removing washcloth and water. Love that. Absolutely love it. And then I really like witch Hazel and some whipped tallow cream. I love, this is grass fed tallow and organic lavender essential oil. Have you snail muson? I loved that. I have. Oh, occasionally, just like I just get, got this Lara LA Roche posse, my seller water and thermal spring water. I did get some of those. I don’t know how clean they are. But like I said, everyone, it’s about balance.

Castor oil, check into Castor oil. I put a little bit of my belly button every night, but this is great for those dry spots right here, eyebrows, eyelashes, any dry spots. And then also liver cleanses with Castor oil pack.

I use magnesium mist to replace my deodorant. I am also going to tag Come Alive Herbals. She is tons of information on her page. If you want to replace your deodorant, she has underarm detoxes and magnesium miss. And that’s what I used. Basically just keeping things simple, being able to read the ingredients and just down to the basics. Absolutely no bath in Body Works.

Perfume is a cover word for lots of different ingredients. So it might kind of get expensive like sometimes, but I feel like because of the products that I don’t use, the amount of nose and things that I’ve eliminated, I actually feel like I save money. I’ve been buying store laundry detergent, but we’re getting ready to start making our own. So I’ll share that. And then a filtered showerhead. I think everybody needs one. Your skin is your largest organ and absorbs everything. So by showering in chemicals, chloride and chlorine and metals and everything, your body is absorbing it. So get a filtered showerhead. The one that I did have was like $40 on Amazon. And then you get a filter every three months. So it’s a change that can be affordable, but makes a huge impact. I’m gonna keep sharing alternatives and just talking about low talks lifestyle and hopefully that helps, but just one product at a time. When something runs out, replace it with something a little less toxic. And over time, your toxin load will be reduced drastically.
