Unrivaled: The Controversy Surrounding Player Selection and the Absence of Kennedy Carter

I hate to already have beef with Unrivaled, the new 3 on 3 women’s basketball team, but here we are. Here we are. If you haven’t been following along, basically they’re announcing the 30 players who’ll be participating like one every day. It’s honestly very annoying, but nonetheless I’ve been following along and they restarted today after the Olympic break and clearly everyone has been bugging Kennedy Carter about if she’s joining because she posted this on her Twitter. Just for clarification, because I continuously keep getting asked, I was not invited to Unrivaled, I didn’t get picked. When I tell you, I am shocked by this. When they announced Unrivaled, they said it would be like the top 30 players. It’s a 3 on 3 format. They’re gonna have a one-on-one tournament. To me, Kennedy Carter is the ultimate like no-brainer for this type of league. She would be a freaking awesome 3 on 3 player, one-on-one. I feel like it’s her and O’Rikay up there as like the best of the best probably in the whole league. And Kennedy Carter is easily a top 30 player in the WNBA. I mean if not maybe like a top 20 potentially. She is ballin’ this season. I’m bummed about this. Like I feel like she’d be perfect for the league and I’m sorry we need to put some respect on her name. I feel like she is one of the most underrated, like underappreciated players in the league. So I don’t know, what do you guys think? Have you been enjoying the Unrivaled rollout? Like do you like, I think the players so far are all freaking awesome, but now that we’re getting down to kind of the last, I think it’s like 19 more, I’m really curious now who, now that we know for sure like Kennedy Carter’s not doing it.
