You gotta find your people, the ones that make you feel alright, the kind you wanna stay up with all night. We are with Drew and Ellie. Ellie Holcomb. Live and in person. Live and in person. Well first of all I just want to say that there are a handful of places that are like a beacon of light when you’re touring. One of them is Pilot. We love when the bus driver stops at Pilot after the show because we know we can go get a hot dog. Yeah. Face up. You’re the hot dog man. You’re the hot dog guy. Perfect. We clear out all the hot dogs at midnight. Oh nice. You gotta find your people then you find yourself. What was the inspiration for that song? I was talking with a friend of mine. We had decided to write a song that day. We got into a conversation about friendship. He’s like, you know, it seems like you and Ellie have really got a great community of friends. I said, yeah man, I feel like we kind of found our people. And he goes, he sits down at the piano and he goes, you gotta find your people. Really? And I was like, okay, that’s a good song idea. When you’re together you got nothing to lose. Is that a wrong song? When you’re together you got nothing to lose. You messed up. Nobody tells you when you become a songwriter that you have to also become a song rememberer. Gotcha. Rememberer. Rememberer. Proof. Proof. Nothing to prove. Remember it’s proof, okay? Great. When you’re together you got nothing to prove. When you’re together you got nothing to lose.
