I love Diem. I’m really sad that she’s not here a part of this. Like she really was something special and she still is because people are still impacted by her today. They say that God sends his strongest soldiers to fight the toughest battles and Diem was tough as nails. Diem was amazing and just a light and for all the people and all the kids that complain on the show, I mean this girl had cancer three times and just never complained about being sick ever. She’s one of the first people to showcase the struggle of battling cancer in such a public way. Four weeks ago I started having some pains in my side and I actually had a surgery and it was to remove the cyst on the ovary and they found it. I met Diem on Fresh Meat as we got to know each other, we got close. She was probably like really my only relationship that I’ve ever really had on these challenges. She was willing and open to accept me for who I am and all my flaws and as we continued to grow and attempt to tackle this challenge together we found out that she also was going through ovarian cancer and at that point I knew that she was the most important human in my world. Diem was really scared because she knows that she has to take her wig off and you know her hair is growing back from having cancer so it’s like she doesn’t even let her dad see her without her hair and so it’s this huge moment that I don’t even think people really understood. I can hear the shock you know like oh and then I hear Derek he’s like, Dee you look good and then I start crying because makes me feel nice. One thing that Diem really knew how to do was live life and I don’t know if you learn how to live life because when you find out that you have a terminal diagnosis you know that every moment counts. So she’s the most beautiful person. She lives on in her memory. She lives on in everyone’s hearts. She lives on in the impact that she made on everyone’s life. She’s the true definition when you come to the end of the rope and the only option you have to do is to hold on. She did that and she did it with grace and she did it with dignity. No matter what you had going on in your life she inspired you to feel like there were no problems and it was just her outlook on life and the way she approached it truly gorgeous. That’s what Diem Brown means to me. Diem Brown is inspiration. Her energy is still here. She lives on forever because she did such a good job of being beautiful and I think that’s a gift to all of us that we should treasure. Diem left an indelible mark on me as a human being. Never lost anyone close to me and Diem was the first person that touched me in the way that she did. Touched my heart, touched my soul, touched my life. She was like a beacon of light and she was just a very strong person. Diem inspired me. We miss her. We love her and she’ll always be remembered and talked about. I got to know an angel on earth. She was beautiful inside and outside and I feel like whenever we talk about her I feel like she’s here and I hope that she’s watching over all of us as we talk about her and remember some of the amazing moments about her. I think she’d love that. I can see her smile right now.
