Last month, I signed my sixth balanced bipartisan budget, and I’ve got 60 seconds to tell you all about it. You’ll keep fixing the damn roads and bridges so you can get where you need to go. Since I took office, every summer has been hot infrastructure summer. It makes a record investment to build more housing so you have a safe, affordable place to call home. Let’s build, baby, build. Hires more first responders to protect public safety and keep driving down crime. And expands mental health care to 35,000 more people so they get the care they need. Replaces more lead pipes to protect your drinking water. And launches a new fund to invest in startups, creating thousands of jobs. And keeps bringing more factors and supply chains home so we can keep making stuff in Michigan. And it starts a farm-to-family program so more Michigan farmers’ crops make it to Michigan tables. This budget makes a real difference in people’s lives, and together, we’re making Michigan a place we’re all proud to call home.
