Navigating the Complexities of Love and Abuse in It Ends With Us

I’ve already done two TikToks on this and I know I’m doing a third and it’s all about the movie It Ends With Us. Have you seen it? If you haven’t it’s definitely made… Well it’s thought-provoking and it’s got a lot of discussion around it, it has got lots to think about. There was one sentence that made me feel kind of… Well I had a discussion about it. The one sentence was the daughter asking the mum, why didn’t you leave? I can’t get away from this question and I don’t really know how to respond to it and I think the mum did everything she could to respond to it well in the movie But for me it is why did he abuse? Why did he do that? All I was asking for is love. I mean she did answer it and say it was it felt harder to leave which I completely get but I really feel there’s a conversation around that line and maybe there’s a discussion, maybe there’s something to be had on this line but I never really know how to respond to this question because the answer is complex just as much as the situation. So what are your thoughts on that line in the movie if you’ve seen it? What do you think?
