Title: Equipment Evolution: A Golfer’s Journey to Fine-Tune Performance and Consistency

Yeah, I played the 2,4,1 this year. I was in the 2,2,1 last year. So it’s kind of like the bladiest. I’m Mazuno do. I’ve just felt like I need something that’s a little bit more forgiven, something with a slightly wider self. So yeah, we, I think the lads are currently just building up the two, four threes. And yeah, hopefully they make me hit it.

At that. But it’s gone hand in hand with a little tweaking how you’ve approached your ball striking, right with the ends you’re telling me about. Just going to start a bit.

Yeah, no, it’s with the two for threes compared to the 2 for ones. My interaction on the turf is a little bit different. The two for ones were, cuz they’re a blade and they’re not as wide of a salt. The, you know, when I was making content on the ground, they were just digging a little bit. So, you know, this time it’s got a lot wider 2,4 freezes, got a wider salt. So should definitely help me like now in European on soft return, you know, it should just a little bit more leeway from this drive.

As well. And you’re placing the ball a little bit, you’re saying a bit more forward in your stance, playing a little bit more fading and a little bit less trappy.

Yeah, I’ve gone from like always in the trap door to now starting to see the ball start left full further up in my stance. So, you know, I’m not as steep on it now then I was. So just a few little tweaks and my pool flat amount, like just trying to find that a little bit more consistency really.

Jay. So ask you about the difference between the 2,4,1 and the 2,4,3. Yeah, from Marco’s perspective. Yeah, you were saying because Marco played his two 4 ones a little strong, that was impacting the bounce on the soul. Yes, we’re going too very strong on loft. So obviously that takes off all the bouncy you need to hear through. You’re finding that it’s a little spinning. You’re bad shot high spinning as on your side keeping something about 2,4,3,32 degree offset standard. We don’t need to manipulate that at all. It’s gonna come off a little more forward, not quite spinny. Therefore, we don’t get that batch or being high spin. Yeah, a little more forward. Basically, rolling up is the biggest thing. So what’s the step now then? So you’re building up now set two, four, threes for three standard loft. So there’s no change to the loft, which means we keep the nice wide sole bit bounce on the sole as well, stops digging quite so much. That hand in hand with hitting a slightly more gonna show you all the natural. So what now in Marco? So your mind’s pretty made up, right? You’re sure this is the answer. What do you do from here?

Obviously, I’m gonna test them out. I’ve got a week now till you’re so more qualifying. So I’ll, you know, this week. Oh, Mark and put them to work and see how they perform. But, you know, after doing an hour down there, hitting some balls off the turf, I feel pretty sad that they’re definitely fair for me. I should be easier to perform with. So yeah, pressures aren’t really the result. The results would tell I’m not good.

And change at the long run as well. Three would not a club be hit that often. Yeah, but again, just maybe changing how you see in the ball flight a little bit can do something slightly.

Different. Yeah, so I’ve always, I’ve tried to see free with as a draw club in my bag. I like to fade predominantly off the see. But me and Joe, Bill Free would up in Dubai to just be in the back to when I need to withdraw. So I’ve kind of changed from that a little bit now, kind of come down to seeing everything left to right. So we just built, just did a bit of testing. We were free, was just gonna launch a touch lower. I’m just kind of the peak lights not gonna be as high, but still kind of carry the number that we want. So feel like Joe has done that pretty good job today with the Freewood and then let him know it goes in the next few weeks.

Which three would we end up with, Jay? Can we say STG? What do you like about it, Marco? What’s different?

And it’s a different, mainly the launch. Launch was, I mean, the launch was pretty similar to the one before, but the peak height was down. I’ll be 20,30 feet. So I don’t like my freewood to climb and look like it’s a high ball flat. I feel like I lose control. So this one, yes, just kind of flies up. A bit of a bullet, really. I think we’re going slightly shorter in the shaft as well just to help with a bit more control and to keep the spin rate down. And yes.

Felt great and driver. We’re gonna put a spare one in there just for it. Yeah, so situation arises that you’re not hitting it great, but you’re hitting it great. So nothing really cements.

Yes, John, and probably my best friend, my bag. My favorite problem, my bag and use the same driver for about a year and a half, right? The STX, SCF something is last year’s model. It’s perform really well. But I said to Joe, be cool. Just to see if anything’s better. You know, our scuffers with perfectionist. So trying to find sound if something that was better, but I feel like we found something that was performing just as well, maybe better in certain areas, you know, the ball speed was the same as my previous one, but this one, the control seemed to be a little bit better miss. It was slightly more accurate because of the spin rate was a touch higher than my old one. So we see, I.

Think you can lean on the familiar further foreseeable future. Yeah, for.

Now, I’m gonna stick with the one I’ve been using cuz it’s been performing great. But Joe is gonna build up the STG, ST Max, ST Max as a bit of a backup kind of second driver. There’s nothing wrong with the current driver, is that? No, it’s.

Just giving you an option when you’re not hitting driver quite.

So well. Yeah, just what Max says. It doesn’t matter too much. Yeah, they’re more stable. Maybe even in like in hot countries. Yeah, you know, maybe down in altitude with that extra spend, it could become, you know, going to the bag just to control the bullflight. So.

Where do you see Joe’s role on all this, Marco? So you’ve obviously got a coach. You’ve got your own instincts. And then you’ve got the club builder. The club builder feels to me like club builders kind of working around what you and your coach are working on. Yeah, and then the equipment follows and what you’re doing maybe in September might be different what you did in February. Yeah, talk to me about that.

Yeah, I mean, obviously for me, my equipments, one of the most important things, you know, being a high speed player, you know, such fine margins. So Joe’s, you know, is an important part of my career, my theme, and somewhat safer. Most crucial, yeah, the most crucial me to say, yeah, you know, I’m good at golf players, Joes, professions and comfort. And yeah, I’m leaning that in a good way. So, you know, trust, trust. I trust Joe’s words and his is of like trust shows input ready and advice. So, you know, I’d say to Joe what I’d like to see and he kind of switch around with the club and let’s say ball.

Producer flight, we want. So what triggered the slight change in your approaching ball flight? Why does that is that come from your coach? Does it come from you?

Gonna come from myself and my coach. Really. We change to a fade of fatigue last year and it’s been great. So I’ve been still trying to hit like a little trap draw of my eyes the last two years and not that hasn’t been good, but I feel like it could be a lot more consistent.

So I said, you know, we both come, we both forward, aren’t we kind of do the same thing throughout the bag just to simplify everything. And yeah, you know, work great in China. And hopefully it’s not just a one of the things we picked out a hat for the week in its work. Hopefully it sticks. Really.

Goals for the rest of the season. Hopes.

You know, I’m, I think I’m seventh in the rankings now. So, you know, I’d love to get to the deeper world to a final. That’s obviously a goal of mine. You know, I’ve got US Open qualifying and British Open qualifying coming up. So I’d like to try and play a major this year and make it a hat trick and, you know, just being contention as much I can, really. Okay.

Best of luck. Thank you. We’ll see how, what we need.

Thank you. Cheers. Thank you.
