The Healing Power of Alvin and the Chipmunks: A Comical Approach to Overcoming a Bad Day

If there is one single piece of advice that I can give you if you are having a bad day and you just need to have a cry, but you also need something to kind of help you propel over it, to like get over it, it is to turn on the song Bad Day from Alvin and the Chipmunks, the movie, available probably on all streaming platforms, but I know it is on Spotify. Genuinely play this song, let yourself cry to it, but the mere act of crying to a cover of a sad song sung by Alvin and the Chipmunks will then make you like laugh. There will be like tears streaming down your face, but you’re also gonna be laughing about it. Like it’s genuinely the most ridiculous thing on earth that you can do is to cry to an Alvin and the Chipmunks cover of Bad Day. And I truly believe the mere recognition of that is just like it resets your brain chemistry, puts you back on like good smooth ground. Today’s been a rough day for me. I got my period. Molly Mae and Tommy broke up. I had plans to go to a water park this weekend. Those plans are no longer happening. I messed something up at work. Just a lot of things compiled. And so, you know, my fiance was out here rubbing my back, like talking me through my day and what went wrong, why I feel so sad. And I just look at him and I’m like, I need you to put Alvin and the Chipmunks on. I just need to cry it out to the song. And so he takes my phone and he puts on Bad Day by Alvin and the Chipmunks. And we just sit together, tears streaming down my face while Bad Day by Alvin and the Chipmunks plays, just holding hands to Alvin and the Chipmunks Bad Day, letting me cry it out. And now I’m on the couch where I will now be watching reality TV. He’s gonna go pick me up Chipotle. I’m gonna hit the hay early tonight and just start fresh tomorrow. But I wouldn’t have been able to do it without the power of the Alvin and the Chipmunks cover of Bad Day. I can do anything through the power of Alvin and the Chipmunks cover of Bad Day, which strengthens me. You gotta try it the next time. You just need to have a cry sesh. Just trust me on this, okay?
