John 15,2, if a believer bears no fruit, are they saved at all? I am a new Christian. I could use your help on this. So let’s talk about this is in John chapter 15. I am the true vine and my father is the vine dresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit, he takes away. And every branch that bears fruit, he proves that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to. You abide in me and I in you, as the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in me. In the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me. I am the vine. You are the branches.
He who abides in me, I am in him, bears much fruit. For without me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in me, he is cast out. And the branch is withered and gathered them and thrown into the fire and they are burned. If you abide in me and my words abide in you, you will ask what you desire and it shall be done for you. By this, my fathers glorify that you bear much fruit so you will be my disciples.
So let’s talk about this. See, the problem is not the word of god. The problem is the interpretation of the word of god. It’s very clear that’s speaking about unbelievers and it’s talking about believers. Anyone who you repent of unbelief to belief in Jesus, you are saved, period. That means you become born again of the spirit. You’re actually a new creation. So he said it clearly. You abide in me, Jesus. You will bear fruit.
This is a fact. This is an automatic response to a relationship to Jesus. This is not something you’re pursuing. Well, I accepted. Jesus. Now, morning, honey. I gotta, we gotta start doing works. Let’s start looking through the Bible on the works. We gotta have happen. Let’s talk about that, baby. No, man, that’s ridiculous. It’s literally telling you right there in the scripture. Anyone who abides in me, anyone that’s put their faith and trust in me, you will bear fruit. And anyone who has not done that, you will not bear fruit and you’ll be cut off and burned in a fire. See, they just don’t understand something. All these crazy teachers are teaching a false gospel. Many of them would tell you. See, though, those people right there that they were following, they said following their believers. Just because you follow does not make you a believer.
Judas, was Judas a believer in Jesus? No, he was a follower. So you gotta understand something. In Jewish times, there are many rabbis who would come into town and they would get many followers. Absolutely. This was customary during that time. Remember Nicodemus? He’s in there talking to the other Pharisees, saying, hey, listen, cuz I think what was happening is Nicodemus was starting to see like, Jesus could be Yashua. He could be the Messiah. So he’s trying to calm down the religious people of his time who wanna kill Jesus cuz they think he’s a heretic. And he goes, guys, listen, haven’t we seen this before? The rabbi comes through town, they get a massive following. And then what happens? Their teachings become too much for anyone to bear and all of a sudden they dissipate. However, if this man is sent by god, how could we even stop him? Isn’t that amazing? So I want to make it very clear. Anyone who repents of unbelief to belief in Jesus, that when you accept Jesus, the product of belief in Jesus absolutely comes fruit. You know, the scripture says faith without works is dead. That’s literally what it’s saying. That you have faith in Jesus that works will come. But can we throw away the fruit police? We need to throw them away. Can we throw away? And I want to give you a real example to maybe help many of you.
There’s another scripture to use constantly. It’ll say, man, did you not read that verse? It said, we prophesied in your name. Did we not cast out demons in your name? And God said back, I never knew you. It’s like you almost want to say, you’re so blinded by your own religion as an organization teaching a false narrative that you’re not slowing down to read the own words coming out of your mouth. Have we not prophesied in your name? Have we not cast out demons in your name?
Jesus responds, I never means never knew. You were just religious people doing the works of God with no heart change. Do you see how the fruit police would have failed that? And let me go on.
See, a person, no other human being on the planet can look at you as a believer in Jesus and begin to sit back as the righteous judge looking at your life to see if you bear fruit. Real story, a woman happen to be in a porn. That was her life. And before all of you judge her, this same woman went through abuse from her father and , all sorts of crazy stuff out on the street on her own and just miserable and ended up in this lifestyle.
Well, thank you, Jesus, for servants of Lord who’ve been set free from all sorts of things were ministering in front of this place. They offered her some coffee, started becoming friends with her, being led by the Holy Spirit to share the good news with her. All of a sudden, she accepts Christ. She put her belief in Jesus. From what she did, is repentant of unbelief to belief in Jesus.
When that happened, now of a sudden, when she is going to the porn shoots, wait a minute. Did I just say she put her faith in Jesus and she’s going to the porn shoots? Yes, I did. Because the story ain’t over. A work that God begins, he will finish, not me and you.
So now, since she’s got a Bible under her arm, she’s going to the porn shoot and she’s going, Lord, protect me today as I’m working. And in between the shoot, she’s reading the scripture and all of a sudden the, she goes on.
Well, some months go by and ends up happening is, see, the Holy Spirit, when you accept Christ, now lives inside of you. My spirit does not draw in a temple made with hands. My spirit draws in, you see where the clay and God’s the Potter. The clay doesn’t tell the Potter what to do and when to do it.
So now Jesus is in her life. It was just belief in Jesus, but all of a sudden, a good work came that the Holy Spirit brought. She’s got her Bible under her arm, going to a porn shoot.
More time went on. All of a sudden she realized, like, I don’t want to do this anymore. I don’t want to be involved in this. And within six months, she literally went from in this whole industry to how to start reading and praying, meeting with other women who begin to teach her more about the scriptures. She Learned more about god. Eventually, she becomes totally free of all this stuff in her life. And it took about six months. And now she full times is a minister of the gospel who she can go into these environments that are nasty and nasty knowing who the real enemy is, and it’s not human beings, God’s greatest creation. It’s satin, the demonic spirits who’s a father of lies. And she’s right in front of those shoots while they can hear it, while they’re all inside waiting outside to give them a coffee or to give them a ride or to help them take somewhere, just to love on them, saying, God, open up their minds and hearts to the truth. Cuz she’s been set free. She wants to give that back. And guess what? It is hell on earth having to drug yourself every single day and almost lose your soul in this business.
So now here’s this ministry full throttle. But quick question, do you hear any Christian anywhere, the 90% of them who would hear what I just said? No, they wouldn’t. The fruit police would have came in immediately. Like what? You never really accepted Jesus then. If you’re doing such a thing, you never accept Jesus. Aren’t you glad that it doesn’t matter what anyone saying, Jesus knows your heart, Jesus knows your life. Wear the clay. He’s the Potter. Our flesh never got saved. Our flesh goes back to the dust of the ground. And when Jesus, when you finally put your faith in Jesus, you abide in the vine, which is Jesus, you literally will bear fruit. It’s not something you produce. It’s something that comes from your faith in Jesus that works come out.
Even in my own life, I’ve been following Jesus 43 years. I have thousands and thousands of works. I can’t even remember them all being on this feed. It’s like the Holy Spirit has to remind me of all these things happen. But do you know, never. I would never in a million years take credit for one thing happening. It’s just been my privilege to follow Jesus. It’s been my privilege to get the blessing of being led by his spirit. I got it wrong many times. I got it right many times. So it’s just an honor to abide in Jesus and his spirits in me to lead me to do many things, just like all of you, maybe in your life right now. The abiding comes from your reading the word. That’s all that God’s asking of you. He’s gone. You’ve never read the word. I want to show you the word. Maybe it’s right now to be nice to your husband, nice to your children, maybe learn how to pray with them. But I just want to encourage everyone, anyone who puts our faith in, trust in Jesus will bear fruit cuz that’s the product of putting your life into Jesus’s hands. Cuz once you do that, a work that God began, do you not understand that term? It’s a Holy Spirit that drew you to salvation. You have free will. Said yes. From there, God’s gonna lead you every single day.
So, father, I pray, many would say, Holy Spirit, thank you for a new day. Lead god and direct my steps away. The father and the son work through me in spite of me and Jesus say my let go of control of this day. No matter what happens this day, I will trust you’re in it, good, bad and ugly. Thank you. That at work that you begin, you will finish. Jesus, how do we say thank you? Enough.
