Sticking to the Plan: A Game-winning Strategy in Baseball

Get your cause for the curveball. Two fingers, let’s go twirl it. There it is, ump says strike. They need three more outs and they avoid elimination. Curveball again, gets it swinging, foul ball. Oh and two, fastball, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up. Beautifully executed. Out number one, two more to go. He goes fastball, inside. No, that’s not the pattern. We open up curveball, base hit. Okay, we open up curveball. He wants it away, up and in. No, no, no, no, no, that’s not the plan. So now we got two on Wisconsin, trying not to get eliminated. Coach comes out, he says, hey, let’s just stick with that game plan from the first at bat. First pitch curveball, beautiful, yup. Second pitch curveball, yup. Beautiful and now you go to that fastball, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up because they’re not ready for it. Bam, there you go. One more out and they do it. Everyone’s hoping and waiting and wishing. Curveball again, this is the pattern. This is how we win. Swing and a miss, let’s do it again. Curveball, bam, swing and a miss. And now, yup, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, with that fastball, boom. Let’s go. You just gotta stick to your plan, you know?
