The nitpicking and complaining
in the comment section of the new Assassin’s Creed trailer
is some of the funniest stuff I’ve ever seen.
A shocking amount of the complaints stem from this one line
as a character, he can fight his way out of anything,
but he’s also super smart and can think his way.
And people are using that line to nitpick this trailer into oblivion
while at the same time just making themselves look stupid.
People are like, if Yosuke is so smart,
why does he bust through that gate
when he just take off the bolt and walk through it?
Why does he leap off of this building wearing tons of armor
and fall flat on his face?
And it’s like these people have never played a video game before.
Or like, do you think these are cutscenes?
Do you think these are narrative decisions
Yasuke is making in the story?
They’re just trying to show off the differences between him
and the assassin character.
A lot of comments are also like,
if Yasuke is so smart, why does he write this letter from the bottom?
Nice researching Ubisoft. This could actually be a legitimate criticism.
Like, I don’t know how to write Japanese characters,
but everyone saying he’s writing this from the bottom to the top,
and he just clearly isn’t.
Like, he clearly finishes at the bottom of the paper.
And that’s the problem with this whole thing.
If it’s true that he’s writing this Incorrectly then.
That’s crazy. That’s a super insensitive,
ignorant oversight
that Ubisoft should have done their research and corrected it.
But it’s impossible to tell what’s an actual criticism of this game
and what’s just racist nonsense,
because most of the comments are the latter.
Watching this gameplay
and complaining about Yasuke barging through that door
instead of just opening it.
It’s like watching Metal Gear Solid gameplay
and complaining that snake is sneaking around in a box.
