Alien Romulus: A Stellar Review & Future Franchise Possibilities

Here are my thoughts on Alien Romulus
and is it worth your time?
It is like,
if you want, like,
my super quick review on this one,
it is a good time.
I would actually argue that this is an above average alien movie.
Now let me make myself clear.
There are problems with this movie,
but the things that people have a problem with it are
it is strange to me. Oh, well,
it has too much fan service.
What are you talking about?
It’s just the plot. Like,
I’m sorry, calling cruel plot points of Alien Romulus as fan service
because it connects too much to the original alien movies.
Oh, and yeah,
this movie takes place right after alien.
Like, I’m not even kidding you,
like, within three months of alien.
So, yeah,
you really don’t need to watch Covenant.
You really don’t have to watch Prometheus,
although there will become some cool stuff that you’ll understand.
You really just have to watch the original alien movie
and then you’ll understand Romulus.
So that’s it for non spoilers.
But I just want to talk about this movie.
It has problems. Like,
there are problems with this movie.
Number one, there’s like,
two characters that you actually give a shit about.
Everybody else is just a meat puppet.
But what I do like about the meat puppet or the meat victims is that,
like, they’re actually somewhat competent.
Like, there’s only ever a few decisions that are made
By characters that are just actively stupid.
And the accents that some of these characters do.
We, the audience,
understand why that’s a dumb decision,
but they don’t. So even that’s kind of like a fifty fifty.
But let’s talk about the thing that we actually care about,
and it is earth. Is the alien cool?
Yes. No, no, no.
This makes alien cool again.
I would say Alien Romulus,
honestly speaking, is probably the third best alien movie.
Alien is number one. It just is like.
Alien is the best. Aliens is number two.
Great sequel. In my opinion,
Alien Romulus is a better film than Alien 3.
The face huggers are terrifying.
The alien is terrifying. The last 20 minutes of this film is like,
what the hell is that? But overall,
this is going to be a really good start to another trilogy.
And yes, no,
this is the start of another trilogy.
Like, if I had to say another gripe about this movie,
it would be that it is a very obvious setup for two other movies
because they will do the alien thing for the entire film.
And then the last 20 minutes are like,
oh, that’s where we’re going.
I dig it. When are we getting a sequel?
Like, I’m more hyped for a sequel to this movie
than any other thing that could come out of alien.
