Facelifted Audi RS 3: A Comprehensive Overview

The RS three just got even better
because Audi has just released the facelift for this car.
Here’s everything you need to know.
Let’s start with the front design.
Right off the bat, uh,
the things that are standing out to me are the headlights,
the side blades, the new integrated one piece front splitter.
This reminds me a lot of the RS five,
the new one that’s gonna be coming out.
And the grill surround and the pattern are different.
And the Audi logo is more integrated into the grill surround,
which I think is pretty cool.
Overall, I think this looks pretty aggressive.
For the rear, they changed out the diffuser.
The exhaust is a lot, a lot more pronounced.
And you get brand new tail lights.
Another cool addition are these wheels.
They’re sort of new.
You can get these same wheels with an R S 3 performance
that was offered way back,
but those were matte gray.
These are hyper silver.
Also get brand new wheels specifically for this car,
P Zeros. And you can also option this car with P Zero RS
if you feel like you want to take your RS 3 to the track.
Interior first glance doesn’t look too different,
but there are some subtle and big changes for this thing.
You get new door cards with ambient lighting.
This is one thing a lot of people complain about.
They didn’t think the RS three door card looked as premium as it
Should for an RS three.
New steering wheel with the RS buttons and a boost button to the left.
New gauge cluster with the RS TAC
that actually used to be in the previous RS threes.
It’s finally back. It’s just a little bit redesigned.
New MMI. And there’s one super cool thing for the new RS three facelift.
Now get the RS
carbon fiber bucket seats inside of the RS three facelift.
This is so cool.
This is what your rear passengers gonna see if you get these seats.
Moving on to driving dynamics.
The new facelifted R S threes are actual track weapons.
Both these cars now hold the subcompact nurburgring lap time record,
beating the previous time for the BMW M2 by a whopping five seconds.
Safe to say these cars absolutely move out.
And in terms of how they manage to improve how well this car drives
is actually very surprising.
Because none of it is mechanical.
It’s all software.
Because they’ve been testing this car on the nurburgring
for the past two or three years
since release, and apparently
they found the perfect sauce to make this thing oversteer
and drive like you would not believe.
For those wondering, there aren’t any engine changes to this car,
which I don’t necessarily mind.
No manufacturer, BMW,
Audi, or Mercedes really updates the power when they do a facelift.
And honestly,
I’m really just glad they actually went through the effort
of keeping the five cylinder one.
Last thing I want to mention Canadians who can finally rejoice
the RS three is finally coming back to Canada!
