Exploring the Future of Gaming PCs: External Graphics Card Setups and Mini PC Advancements

Gaming PCs are evolving into something new and strange
that I don’t think you’re ready for.
Egpu or external graphics card setups are becoming more common
with the rise of mini PCs
and laptops that support them.
Some have entire desktop power supplies built in
for power hungry cards, some are slim
and have limited power delivery
that limits what type of cards you can use.
And some have built in GPUs that can’t be upgraded.
But every so often you’ll wind up with something cool like this
that supports literally any card that’s currently out.
But it only works with two specific mini Pcs.
It’s smaller form factor, but it still delivers 600 Watts
without needing its own dedicated PC power supply,
meaning it could power literally anything up to an RTX 40 90.
Including a 40 80 TIE apparently.
Which isn’t even a thing. But about as good as supporting Horizon 40 70.
This egpu has an extra long
PCI Express 4.0 connector
that slots directly into the corresponding mini PC slot
when it’s placed on its side,
and even has the bandwidth to be
faster than anything using Thunderbolt
or Oculink connections.
As of right now you’re only able to use the dock with blinks.
12 Gen and Core Ultra 100 Intel G12 and G14 machines though.
