90s Baby: Navigating Nostalgia, Awkwardness, and Coming of Age in ‘DD’ – A Review

Imagine you’re a 90s baby growing up in the 2,
and this is the last month of summer before high school begins.
And there’s a lot of things you have to learn on your own,
like skating, flirting,
and how to love your mom. DD is one of the best movies of the year,
and it’s a mixture of mid nineties grade and Ladybird
meeting the late 2.
And it was only a matter of time before we got a movie like this.
It was filled with 2 nostalgia.
It was extremely relatable,
and director Shawn Wayne
took some of the most awkward and cringiest moments of our childhood
and made something beautiful out of it.
I absolutely loved this film.
