Fixing a Fallen Backup Camera: A DIY Journey

My backup camera is literally nonexistent.
I can’t even see anything at all.
And, well,
that’s because there is no backup camera in here.
It literally just fell out.
I don’t even know where it is.
Anyway, instead of complaining about it every time I go to reverse,
I’m just gonna go ahead and fix it.
Cause this is one of the things on my list I needed to get done
before going to Mustang Week.
I luckily,
this is got to be like one of the easiest things you can ever do.
Literally. We’re just gonna take this, like,
carpeted trunk piece off.
Go ahead and start by removing these little plastic screw things here.
Oh,
now we’re gonna go ahead and get rid of all these clips
that are holding the plastic piece in,
and then we’ll have good access to the actual trunk.
Well, we got the carpeted piece out,
and to our surprise, the cameras literally just hanging there now.
Honestly not sure how it fell out of its bracket.
The bracket fell all the way down there,
and I have to see if we can put the bracket back on there
or if it actually cracked off the bracket.
And of course,
here’s our camera bracket completely cracked on every single corner.
And it’s also raining to make it better.
And there’s the actual other piece cracked as well.
Unfortunately, with just a bracket being broken off,
I honestly don’t even know if I can Just get this piece.
Or if I have to buy an entire camera assembly.
I noticed I can still get the camera to sit up in there.
Still has a proper fitment on the deck lid.
So I’m not gonna do the best option
and literally just tape it on there.
All I had was this double sided tape.
So I just filled it up with double sided tape.
I’m gonna see if I can handle. Its first slam.
Did stay in place. Good enough to me.
