Throwback Glam: Recreating My High School Makeup Routine

In honor of back to school,
we’re gonna do my makeup how I did it in high school.
Even went out and purchased all of the OG products I used.
Here’s the deal, okay?
My makeup in high school was not good.
Of course, I used ABH Dip Brow in high school.
My eyebrows were shaved off. Okay?
You can guess who my idol was at the time.
I will not be shaving my eyebrows off for a video,
but I will do them as close as they were.
At this point, it’s like,
you might as well do your brows with a freaking shappy.
Clean them up underneath, make them nice and sharp.
I mean, I like them.
I was absolutely a user of Maybelline Baby Lips.
You weren’t cool if you weren’t using baby lips. Hmm.
Oh, my god,
that smells so good. Oh,
this is taking me back in prep routine.
We don’t know her. I didn’t have one,
but sometimes I would use this oil free acne moisturizer.
It’s like, I wonder why my skin was so bad in high school.
Oh, my god.
Oh, that scent is taking me back in time.
Is that grapefruit? Now?
Why does this actually feel really nice?
This was a holy grail for me in high school.
The skin clearing concealer.
It was an acne girly in high school.
So anything that helped with a breakout? Yes.
Gosh, I went through so many of these.
And did it help? My acne,
I don’t know, but I loved it
because I can literally just tap it right on top of my breakouts, and,
you know, acne is a huge confidence struggle in high school,
and everyone at the time was using Benefit Professional.
I would just put it in my T zone.
This was my foundation in high school.
I cannot even begin to tell you
how many bottles of this I went through.
I remember at the time,
this was the only foundation that would cover my acne.
Was so full coverage. Take it under the eye.
On the eye. Yeah.
It’s all coming back to me now.
This foundation is fire. Shape tape.
Shape tape came out when I was a senior in high school,
and the first time I used it,
I was hooked. Still, to this day,
I really like it. I remember it was, like,
revolutionary at the time.
No one had seen full coverage quite like it.
And then
I would take the Rimmel London Stay Matte powder to set the face,
and I would set my entire face.
At this point in my life, I couldn’t afford, like,
Sephora or anything like that,
so most of the makeup I used was drugstore.
It really is given plastic doll,
and that was always my goal.
I wanted to look like a doll.
And I went in with the bomb Bahama Mama, like, oh,
this is such an OG product.
At this point, I was Using mostly like,
powder products like creams were not relevant yet.
But I would use a shit ton of bronzer.
Oh my god, I’m starting to feel like my high school self.
No blush.
No blush. But I would go in with the.
The Bomb Merry Luminizer highlighter.
I needed to glow, baby.
I put on so much highlighter,
but no blush. Like, what?
Yes. Uh huh.
Oh my god, I am deceased.
Because this was the time
when Kylie Jenner was blowing up for her lips.
This is the pencil from high school.
Oh my god, this is so old.
It’s world from Mac. This is the one she used, right,
to get those big juicy lips.
Oh my god, this is so old.
I’m gonna put it on. This was before I had my lips done,
so my lips were really tiny
and I would overline the shit out of them.
Everybody wanted Kylie Jenner lips.
And also at the time, people would go right over the cupid’s bow.
They would totally get rid of it.
Okay. Overlines like crazy.
And then that Mac flesh pot right on top.
One thing you would not catch me a day without in high school
is a winged eyeliner. That’s why I’m so good at eyeliner today,
because I’ve been doing it since I was like 12.
And I would do a pretty classic wing.
I cannot believe I was able to find the lashes I wore in high school.
One Day my mom was going shopping,
she asked me if I needed anything.
I said, mom,
find me the biggest lash you can.
And she brought these home for me,
and I wore them every day since.
These are the Adele two O threes.
They are ridiculous. Oh, wow.
Oh. I am now convinced
that this is the reason no guy wanted to date me in high school.
Yeah, these are something else.
And this is how I did my makeup in high school.
Honestly, it looked way worse in high school,
but I’ve had a little bit of a glow up since those days.
Like, this isn’t the worst thing I’ve ever seen.
The lashes are horrific, in my opinion,
but everything else looks fine.
I definitely do my brows a bit different.
How did you do your makeup in high school?
