If you think that all iPhones are the same,
you’re wrong. Especially between the US and EU iPhones,
there are multiple differences.
Let’s look into them.
The most obvious one that surprised a lot of people
is that the EU iPhones still come with the SIM card tray
to put the physical SIM card in.
You can also use e SIM, but you’re not restricted to it.
US got rid of the SIM card tray completely
to make room for another 5G antenna for millimeter wave.
5G is more developed in the US while having more advanced networks,
making millimeter wave more relevant in the US.
Of course, the next thing is the added side loading on EU iPhones.
You can now download apps outside of the App Store
like Fortnite and unrestricted to the App Store,
which can also mean reduced security.
Other software differences right now is the new Siri
and Apple Intelligence.
While US Apple products already have the new Siri
animation and a few small Apple Intelligence features,
you can’t get them in the EU
without working your way around the restriction.
If you go to the Apple Intelligence section in settings,
you’ll see that Apple Intelligence
is currently not available in the EU.
Besides the iPhone itself,
the Apple Card is exclusive for the US
and you can’t get it outside of it.
The US Apple Wallet app is also different from the EU one.
The integration of digital drivers licences or IDS,
for example Is currently limited to certain US states
and not available in the EU at all.
