I have an insane vintage all for you guys. I haven’t had one this good in a while or I’ve like had them, but I just haven’t posted them. So this one’s gonna go absolutely off. And I did wanna plug that I am now selling vintage. A lot of it’s from my own like closet collection over the years at Cleve Vintage in Parmo, Ohio, they’re open every Saturday from 11 to 4. I’m trying to be there as many Saturdays as I can, but I am so excited about this. It’s on 4,2,7 Brook Park Road in Parma. And they sell like mid century modern furniture, home decor, like just like different stuff for around your house. And then there’s a full room dedicated to clothing where I sell and I’m selling under mirror ball vintage.
Say hi, bubbles. So feel free to come check it out. You can follow my IG page. I don’t want it to like take you this down. Cuz I mentioned a different app, but you can follow me on Mirror Ball vintage if you wanna see like different stuff I’m putting out. And yeah, I’m really excited. Okay, let’s get started.
Starting off strong with this brat coated, if you know Charlie XCX swimsuit very much like vintage swimming costume vibes. It’s more like a romper. But honestly, I love this because I can kind of wear as like an outfit on a super hot day if I’m around like the pool or beach. And it’s so cute and comfortable. I didn’t try on everything because like it was just so hot out. So I’m hoping it fits. But again, if I don’t, I have a place to sell it now, which is really nice. This one I got at a different place. This is from planet Claire. She, they just kind of like reopen their vintage store on Madison. It’s sell celluloid vintage. I hope I’m saying that right. Sometimes I struggle with the words, but they just reopen. I always love Planet Claire stuff. This is like a more like 90 style swimsuit. I love getting my bathing suits vintage. Go on eBay, go on deep hop. They don’t pill. They’re so comfortable and stretchy. I mean, they’ve been around for so long that you kind of know they will stay at the test of time a little bit more. And I just find them more flattering. I like a one piece silhouette ironically, but I say ironically because growing up, like I went to like private school and private like camps and you had to wear one piece bathing suit. So I thought I would like hate them, but I actually really like them. Bubbles wants to give me a kiss cuz he is so sweet.
Okay, hit the Jackpot on like polyester pants. So I’m gonna have to decide which ones I’m keeping and which are going. These I need to fix the elastic in, which is something I’ve done for a couple of my pieces as well. I think it’s dry rotted. It’s kind of hard to tell until like I undo the seam and get in there. But definitely check your pieces for dry rot if you are vintage shopping, it’s something that’s a little bit more common. Just do like a quick stretch and kind of see if it’s giving too much or you hear it like starting to tear. That’s because the elastic is gone bad. You can easily work with the stream stress to like get that taken care of. And honestly, it makes it nice cuz it’s like a bit more customizable. You can make the elastic like this is a pretty thin elastic. You can make it like a lot thicker, but these are just like absolutely gorgeous like checkerboard pants. So good for like spring. Honestly, even in the fall too. I am obsessed. Also, if you like vintage clothing and you are in Cleveland, Ohio, Vintage Fest is next weekend. So if you’re watching this on Saturday, it is a week from today, it’s at the IX center. It’s like five bucks, ten bucks. I cannot wait. I’m going to shop. So if you’re there, say hello. It’s, I think there’s over 60 vendors at this one. So it’s gonna be a good time.
More amazing polyester pants. These ones are dead stock. A lot of these are dead stock and they still have like the tag from the may company on that, which is so sick. If you’ve ever seen like the May Company catalogs, very iconic, a lot like the Sears catalogs. I also got these pink polyester ones. I think I’m gonna keep these ones. I just really love the like pattern happening here and the pleats are like still and them after like 40,50 years, the fact that the pleats have stood the test of time is just so cool. Got these really cool, like blue stripy ones.
I love the elastic waistbands on these. They’re just so forgiving. I like that they can fit multiple sizes. Like we need to make more stuff with elastic waistbands because I’m so sick of growing out of all of my like shorts and jeans and I feel like they just used to make sizes more forgiving, which like is not conducive to like consumerism because like they want like I’m talking like very broadly and generally like you have to buy more because you grow out of stuff more now because sizes are like very like pinpointed and like there’s many sizes, which is like a good thing. But I just like stuff like this that’s like I’m gonna have for like the next 10 years. Okay, these ones I’m definitely keeping and I’m just like in love with this pattern. It’s like this pink and red and white. It’s just so gorgeous. It’s so dreamy. Like a little tie top, like super easy and casual. And the fabric of these, it’s just so nice that they’re super easy to hem. A lot of these still have length in them, which is nice, but I’m a short girl, so if anything, I need to take stuff in. But it’s always nice check your pants for length, because if you’re a tall girl like this has like almost no length to it. So you’d, you know, not very forgiving, but this has like quite a bit of length to it. So depending on, you know, how tall or short you are, you can really customize a lot of vintage pants because a lot of seams are kind of built to be like take into a seamstress and made your own. So I got these green and white checkerboard. I’m kind of obsessed with these two. And obviously the Cosmo Wanda of it all, pink and white. This is like more of like a hounds tooth pattern, but just absolutely stunning.
I came across a bunch of pants like this when I was in Baltimore, which is my hometown, and I got them, but they were like their buttons and they’re really nice. They’re very like Easter Sunday colors, but I’m glad these ones are elastic so I need to go through my pants collection and I’m gonna be taking a bunch to the store probably in the next week or two.
Okay, I also got this bathing suit. I haven’t tried it on. We’ll see if I feel comfortable in it or not. But it is just like this really gorgeous, I think 90s, I’m gonna say. I kind of has like a spool sent to it. But yeah, I love the ring in the middle. Honestly, this would be like a sick bodysuit just for like going out. Another thing I like to do is wear my one piece bathing suits as body suits in the summer. It’s a good way to like get multiple uses out of them. And a lot of them don’t look like swimsuits. This tab has like quite a lot of bleeding going on to it. So I will need to wash it cold and separate, probably hand wash it, but it’s just like this little 50 sixties ringer tea. I kind of like that. It’s like a mess because then I don’t care if I’m messy with it.
I kind of like my clothes like lived in a bit makes me feel less guilty about being ruffle them cuz I am. I can be ruffle my clothes. These are another pair of Bill bottoms I have to try on. But now that I’m like holding them, they have this really nice elastic in the back, but it’s actually not as stretchy as I thought. This is probably like a 24 stretches to a 25 inch waist and I am not that. So these ones are probably gonna have to go. I didn’t think about that. I liked it cuz they kind of look like a denim, but they’re not. They’re this like amazing material. They’re vintage Sears made in the US it’s crazy. This is a size 9 to 10, a vintage 9 to 10. This is, yeah, easily like a 25 inch waist. Okay, we’re down to the last few things. I only got like one shirt, but I love this shirt. I think with one of the pink pants, it’s also by Sears. Cuz I wish I need to find some more serious catalogs on eBay just to look at them for inspo. But look at how just lovely that embroidery is. It’s just so simple. And I love it also got this insane psychedelic JC Pennies vintage top. It’s got like the really classic dagger collar, a little bit like less traditional than I’m used to seeing. It doesn’t have any buttons. I’m trying to decide if I want to crop this or do something with it to make it a bit more modern or leave it as is? I have not yet decided. I think once I try it on, I’ll have more of like a vision for it. And then lastly, I got this dress that might be too big for me, but I’m really excited to see what it looks like on. It’s just so beautiful. Like this fabric is gorgeous and it has these like ties, which is why I thought I could probably like custom it a bit more to me.
But again, yeah, I’m so excited to have a place to sell because I have so much stuff that I’ve collected over the years and I’ve changed sizes, I’ve changed styles. I used to buy like a lot more sort of 80s to Y2K. And now that I’ve gotten better at like sourcing 50,60,70 stuff for myself, I can like go up some pieces, rotate pieces out. And yeah, it’s just like a dream to have a space for this stuff. And if you’re ever looking for something in particular, let me know.
I’m happy to be on the lookout for you at the thrift stores, at the vintage stores, because I love shopping for myself and I would rather shop for other people. Some.
