Pride and Paranormal: A Dive into Everend’s Audiobook Month

All the books that I’m reading on Everend this month for Audiobook Month. Okay, so obviously June is Audiobook Month, but I also wanted to read some books that had pride in them. And I don’t wanna say my entire list here is gonna be, you know, Pride Times audio, but my entire list here is gonna be pride Times audio.

Okay, so let’s get into the first book that I wanna talk about today. It’s otherworldly by FT. Lucas. I’ve read another book by FT. Lukens, which was a pirate novel, and I had a lot of fun with that one. So I’m really excited for this ones is a male romance that also has a bit of the paranormal. Essentially, it follows a young human who meets a paranormal otherworldly person. And that otherworldly person who exist in this realm has to basically attach themselves to a human. So as you can probably guess, they attach themselves to each other not in a weird way, but just in like a, your spirit, I’m a human. And now we’re gonna be going off and doing paranormal things together. Anyway, it definitely sounds like a really cute time. And like I said, I read FT Lucas before and I’m very excited for this one. I can’t wait to get into it.

The next audiobook that I want to talk about is actually the sequel to a book that I read last year for my battle of book series on YouTube. That book is called court of Wanderers by Ren Chebaco. And let me tell you all, when I first read the first book in this like series, like trilogy, whatever this is gonna be. I was not prepared for this polyamorous relationship. I was pleasantly surprised and I love all of these characters. Okay, it follows basically two vampires who are like royalty and then this kind of like vampire hunter of sorts. He’s like what I imagine to be of Ichabod Crane, if you guys get that reference. He’s just so funny. Like I love this main character. He gets thrown into this band with these two vampires and somehow everybody develops feelings.

It was such a surprise last year. I really loved it. And I’ve never read a range of Echo before. So to have this be like one of my favorites from last year, like I cannot wait to get into the second book. So it’s gonna be a good time. Also, these covers are stunning. I’m so obsessed with these, which I am reading them on audio this month, but I do plan on buying these later on.

The next book that I wanna get to is a book that I actually soft DNF many years ago. And I’m gonna just say, I’m gonna say I paused for now, but that is Dread Nation by Justina Ireland. And let me tell you all, I read this one physically when I first started it. And I really think that reading this on audio, it’s gonna really help me, you know, have a great time with this one.

Essentially, this is a dystopian past, like the Civil War. I don’t know if that’s like how you would describe this book, but essentially there are zombies running amuck in the times of the Civil War times, right. And so there are zombie hunters, professional killers who have to basically, like, protect, you know, the white people on plantations.

And it was such a great concept when I first started reading it that I was like, alright, where is this book going? Like, I wanna see the plot. And I really love that there’s an ace character in here like that. Just really, I love it so much. I really wanna read this one and I want to enjoy it. So I’m hoping that the audio just like really transcends, like it really takes me to the next level.

Last but not least, y’all, I’m actually doing a reread this month. It’s been a minute since I’ve reread a book. I’ve been slumping, I’ll say it. So I’m going to be reading The Charm Offensive by Allison Cochrane. And let me tell y’all what, this is one of my favorite romance books of all time. I love this book so freaking much. Okay, so I read it physically the first time. I annotated it. I loved it. I consumed it, whatever. I think reading it on audio is really just gonna make these characters come to life. Like, I’m so excited to read this one on audio and I had no idea that everyone had it in stock. So like when I saw it, I was like, add it to right in my cart. I mean, add it to my safe title. So I will be reading our rereading this book this month and I cannot wait because I truly love these characters. I love the relationship. It’s like one of the healthiest relationships ever. Obviously, it’s a male romance and I think there is some really good neurodivergent rep in this book.

I can’t wait to read it again cuz this will be my first reread of this. And I just, I think it’s gonna be so good. So those are the four books that I’m going to be reading at this month on audio on everand. And, you know, I don’t wanna say that there are many other titles that I could be reading, but it was hard to pick. Okay. Alright guys, see you in the next one. Bye.
