Analyzing the Best Back Three for New Zealand Against South Africa

Will Jordan, Caleb Clark with Boden Barrett,
is your, that your back three?
Is that the 3 we will see take on South Africa?
Um, I’m not 100% convinced that that’s the right back three,
but it’s quite possibly the back 3 that,
that Scott Robertson will pick and along with his,
his obviously,
uh, coaches in that area who will be advising him on who he should,
should select. Who are your back three, Justin?
Um, I think it’s,
it’s very plain and obvious that I,
I, I see Will Jordan as, um,
as a fullback. Uh,
I thought last night when he got his opportunity to move to fullback,
he, he was gassed.
Um, I watched him a couple of times
and he actually looked like he should be,
which is first test match back starting and the pace and the tempo, uh,
had basically because his work rate was phenomenal,
wasn’t it? To,
you know, two tries and he was all over the place.
By the time he got his opportunity to get the full back,
he just looked tired. Um,
and that’s understandable because he’s not used to it like he was,
he’s been out of the game for,
for six or seven months. So does Caleb Clark stay on the left wing?
I think Caleb Clark needs to stay on the left wing, um,
simply because I feel that he’s our best winger in the ear.
Uh, he’s made such improvements in his game in that
Zone South Africa
will be very strategic and methodical with their kicking strategy
and that their kicking is really accurate
and it, it demands you leaving,
leaving the ground and, uh,
claiming the ball in the air with players contesting it.
And Caleb Clark, I think, is,
is our best winger at doing that. And,
and equally, um,
I like the fact that the other wingers that we’re going to choose, um,
play differently. And we,
we, if we bring power, we,
we bring something different.
