How to make realistic eyeballs for Halloween!
actual size edition!
start with a pack of Sculpey
I use translucent for this,
it’s perfect for eyeballs
roll a ball about 1 inch in diameter
then I use glass cabochons to make the lens of the eye
press it into the ball and then pop it out gently before baking the Sculpey
Print out
some irises to size and cut them out
for this project I glue everything with nail polish top coat
you’ll see why in a minute
glue the paper Iris into place
then paint the pupils black
just to make sure they’re really dark
when that dries
I glue the cabochon into place with the nail polish
then get some yarn in a reddish orange color
pull off some of the fuzz and apply it to the eyeball with the nail polish
repeat until you feel your eyeball is sufficiently veiny
once that’s done
give it a couple top coats to make sure everything’s super shiny
these are great for freakishly realistic puppets,
props, animatronics, cosplay,
you can also make a half dome instead of a sphere
and it’s great for masks
you can play with the size
shape and color to make something that fits any kind of project
pro tip glow in the dark Sculpey is great for black light
the method in this video is the same one that I’m using to make the eyeballs
for all the Beetlejuice characters
I’m making this Halloween,
and it’s the same one that I used to create my life size
flying Sanderson Sister puppets!
