Exploring the Timeless Charm of ‘She Loves Me’: A Musical Journey

She loves me, the first musical that was ever live streamed,
but also a classic musical.
She loves me is you’ve Got Mail.
But more importantly, shop around the corner.
And I’m gonna miss all of the layers.
So cheating from my notes.
The musical is the third adaptation of the 1937 play
Parfumerie by Hungarian playwright Miklos Laszlo,
following the 1940 film Shop Around the Corner.
Jimmy Stewart 1949 musical version.
In The Good Old Summertime.
And we will insert a clip from the roundabout revival.
That was so amazing.
Also my favorite David Rockwell set.
That set was incredible. Also,
Laura Benanti is perfect. We’re gonna do one more tiny little clip here.
I did not know this musical prior to the revival.
And I’m so grateful again for non profit theaters.
Roundabout commercial entity.
Broadway Roundabout non profit.
So grateful that this revival happened.
Some of the songs from this musical are tonight at 8.
She loves me, dear friend Ilona,
every soprano’s favorite song.
Vanilla Ice Cream, where’s my shoe?
Ugh. And will he like me?
So good. The score is beautiful.
It’s a story that I love dearly.
You’ve Got Mail is also, incidentally,
one of my favorite films. I love it.
