This is part 4 of my series on starting a lip balm business.
Let’s imagine that you’ve done all sorts of research
and you’ve Learned the basics about how to make a lip balm.
The next step is actually making some lip balm.
You will need to invest in some ingredients
and some containers to put the lip balm in.
If you’ve done your research,
like I mentioned in Part 3,
it’ll be easier to narrow down which ingredients you’d like to try.
If you don’t already have a stovetop double boiler,
you’ll need that too. And although it’s not a necessity at this stage,
a small lip balm filling tray is really nice to have, too.
Most other tools are things you’ll likely already have in your kitchen.
You can start with some basic lip balm recipes that you find in blogs,
or courses just to get a feel for the type of result they’ll yield.
And from there, you can decide what your preferences are
and start fine tuning to get your product just the way you want it.
Make sure you always write down the ingredients and quantities
for each recipe
you try and keep notes about what you’re doing
and what your impressions were for each type of lip balm you made
so that you can easily track the result
of each tiny tweak that you make.
