How did General Booty go from playing at four different high schools
to U L.
Monroe starting quarterback?
By now we all know about the signal caller
who holds the most popular name in college football.
Don’t let the name fool you though,
Booty’s path to becoming the Warhawks starter is one of a kind.
General’s journey begins at Corona Del Mar High School
in Newport Beach, California,
where he started as just a freshman.
However, after the season concluded,
his father and former LSU wide out Abram Booty
was offered a coaching position in San Antonio,
Texas at Cornerstone Christian High School.
Could be bought out there as a sophomore,
but due to a falling out with the athletic programs
because of some dysfunction within the school,
the booty family moved again,
this time back to California where general would now play for J.
Serra Catholic High School.
After a tough junior season
that LED to many players leaving the program,
plus the potential of COVID shutting down football and Cali altogether,
his family moved one more time to Allen, Texas.
In his senior year at Allen High School,
General Doo for over 22 yards and 26 touchdowns,
good enough to rank him as a three star recruit.
He had offers from D1 programs like Liberty,
Louisiana Monroe, and Yale,
but decided to take the JUCO route at Tyler Junior College
to boost his stock.
And after leading all of JUCO incompletions and passing yards in 2021,
Booty was offered by Oklahoma.
He spent the last two years there,
only appearing in two games
before transferring to Yale Munroe this past spring,
where he was recently named the team starter.
So shout out to General Booty!
It’s been a crazy journey for him up to now,
and I’m excited to see him ball out for the Warhawks this fall.
